The Companion Bag

So loving this carpet bag , can see me making lots more of these in both sizes

Just love everything about this pattern,  this is using the 8 inch frame, and its the perfect size for every day use.
Love the way it opens wide so you can see what you need at a glance.

I added an extra pocket to the back that fastens with a magnetic clasps

Its easy to do just follow instructions for the front pocket.
I added a crochet flower and button to the front for added details.

How the inside looks when open, this is the 8 inch frame, there is a zipped pocket and a slip pocket inside the bag.
The pattern also has instructions for a 12 inch frame

I used a pretty floral cotton for the lining it has the same shade of blues as the main fabric

In the original pattern they used pre made leather handles,  I made my own and also added a longer strap to wear  across the body

Felt Snowman Garland Pattern

Love this felt snowman garland, it so cute cant wait to put it up over Christmas

I have added the template for the snowman and heart in case anyone would like to make their own garland.
I did hand stitch these, but would be much quicker using a sewing machine.

Here is the template that I drew for the snowmen.
Below are the instructions for the Felt Gingerbread Garland,
that I made last week, you just follow the same instructions for snowmen
you can find the post and the template for the Gingerbread Garland

Thanks for looking,
please post a link in the comments if you make either of these garlands
I would love to see them

Felt Gingerbread Man Garland and Template

Spent a few evenings hand sewing this cute little Garland together.
There is no reason why you cant quicken this project up by using a sewing machine.
I just liked the look of the running stitch and blanket stitched edges .
I have tried to make each little man a little bit different.
As you can see in the photo below.
added some Ric Rak and crosses to give them an iced decoration look .
I started sewing the edges with white embroidery thread, but ran out.
I didn't want to wait until the next day, so just used white yarn for the others,
cut their scarf's from strips of felt

For the heart, I just drew it onto fabric, did a little running stitch on the line I had drawn.
Stuffing the heart just before getting back to the beginning .
Then using Pinking scissors I cut around the edge following my sewn line.
Just be careful you dont cut into your stitches.
best thing about making your hearts this way
No turning the right way out.
They have a nicer shape and look way cute with the pinked edges

I have added the Template I drew for the Gingerbread Men and heart.
Just save print on A4 paper in print in landscape.

I am halfway through making a Snowman Garland, I will post when its finished

Thanks for looking.

Charlies Aunt Poachers Bag and Necessary Clutch Wallet

Here is the Bag I made to go with my Necessary Clutch wallet , that I showed in the post below.
I just about had enough fabric left to complete this bag.
I added an extra Zipped pocket to the inside.
The original bag on the pattern is made out of tweeds and cord fabric.
for mine I used quilting cotton .

lots of pockets for keeping you stuff nice and safe, the top flap closes with a popper.
the top of the bag is narrow so nothing falls out.

I'm going to make this bag in a tweed or more heavier weight fabric for our
wet winter months.
If you like the look of this bag and are interested in the pattern.
you can get a downloadable pattern from Charlies Aunt.
She specialises in Vintage Bag Patterns, you can find them

I have had this fabric in my stash for awhile just waiting for the right project .
The Necessary Clutch Wallet was just crying out to be made in it
 And I love it.

I adapted the pattern slightly by adding a zip pocket on the back.
I followed a tutorial on the facebook group NCW addicts,
they have lots of hints and tips for this pattern
